Ishtar couldn't have Gilgamesh so she became him. Guess it's the next best consolation.

I saw it in a Type Moon material book the other day and it said "Sumeru gods and goddesses all have blonde hair and crimson irises". The Ishtar we see now is the fusion of this original Ishtar and Rin Tosaka hence the familiar appearance.

This is the original Ishtar, like said before all Sumeruain God and Goddess have blonde hair and red eyes in their original forms

Because I think I remember seeing unofficial artwork for Ishtar several years ago. One with golden claws she was wearing or something.

I guess the artist made this as an alternative,closer to what the actual Ishtar would look like,while keeping Rin's looks?

Honestly I thought this was FemGil cosplaying as Ishtar.

This is the true goddess ishtar, if you'll note, aside from the blonde hair, she's also got much larger breasts then Rin.
