I decided to follow up to my ATLA piece!

I think it was easy to be critical of the Korra series as it rolled out especially when making comparisons to it's predecessor. However where it seemed to drop the ball in many ways narratively (notably pacing) it was also SO much more ambitious than the original in rapidly evolving the lore and world building of the Avatar-verse.

The sheer volume of conceptual intricacies being built around each season was inspiring and upon re-watching the series it's easy to see that it deserves to sit rightfully beside The Last Airbender.

Anyway this is my last Avatar piece, I promise!
