As far as I know, probably an incorrect translation; Shoukaku's dialogue is apparently a Kansai expression that can be interpreted fairly literally i.e. "keep your jokes to your face only", "don't make any other joke than your face itself"... i.e. don't say stupid things... kind of meaning basically.
