I read their lines on the wiki. AL Takao is quite serious, while Atago sounds like the typical onee-chan in H-doujin.

Yeah from what I gathered s/he does stuff for the kiss series of VNs, leading me to assume there was some sort of blow up with Kadokawa.

Mikoto Akemi has always been the lead graphics artist for the Kiss franchise VNs from GIGA and thats before Kancolle even entered I'm not sure if she's? also affliated with Alice-soft much like Yaegashi Nan is

belated but I say something happened because A) some other artist (parsey) wound up doing Maya and Choukai and B) these two never got any new CGs during all this time in spite of their popularity.
