Translation request as a tag, and there's also a forum thread for requesting specific forgotten posts. Generally, though, you should wait at least 2 weeks before asking. Even a post from a popular series that is definitely going to be translated doesn't necessarily get translated in the first hour of being posted.

<nerd hat on>The daughter version is definitely the most popular - from the Konjaku Monogatari, which is over 1000(!) folktales from the Heian period. If you wondered how that Japanese Folktales anime could go on for 300+ episodes, this is why. The title there is 'How a Monk of the Dōjōji in the Province of Kii copied the Lotus Sutra and Brought Salvation to Serpents' But a lot of the Konjaku Monogatari stories also show up in different forms in ghost story collections, like the Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai or Yoshitoshi's Wakan Hyakumonogatari (which is where the usual pic of her is from). There's also a Noh play (Musume Dōjōji) where the girl is named Hanako, a Kabuki piece, and Bunraku...

But some versions have her as a young widow, or there's two monks and she falls in love with the younger one, they disagree on whether her father was the village leader, a landlord, or just an inkeeper, they don't agree on whether they fell in love with her or he just lied to get her off his back because she was that scary, or whether she turned into a snake or a dragon (but they thought of dragons as a type of serpent).

tl;dr The daughter version is most popular, nobody can tell which was the original at this point.

If the daughter version is most popular, then that's probably the version she's drawn from for FGO I would assume. Makes her claim here credible then, though I suspect they'll never give us her "real" age so she can have the widest appeal possible. Kimono are quite the convenient garment for that sort of thing aren't they...

Looking at her chest in her swimsuit CG, its hard to believe she's 12/13... But this is anime, anything is possible

Reading up on her, though... I wonder if there's any possibility at all to get her to accept, "You can stay with me my whole life... as my imouto." As a not-lolicon, convincing myself it's just a variation of "scared to sleep alone" is about the only way to put myself at ease with the "sneaking into bed every night" bit...

She has stalking as one of her combat skills (It's a defense down with the demerit of raising the target's attack as well). She most definitely will not accept anything short of "warming your bed" in a sexual sense. As your legal wife. And likely only wife. Because she is definitely the type to "eliminate the competition." Or you.

She's 5' 2" though, so that seems a little tall for a twelve year old. And well... With her figure, I cannot see her as the loli type. (That there's official art- Swimsuit Lancer Ver. Final Ascension)

She's almost entirely set off by lies, so being completely honest about it, and letting her stay at your side in a non-sexual way should be enough to prevent a meltdown. Considering the other "sneak into your bed trio" characters are pretty clingy, but not dead, she has to have some tolerance for others being nearby (even if she's going along with Raikou as just 'trying to be a mother', she's also fine with Serenity going for a snuggle), so long as she gets the closeness she wants, herself. Likewise, in that vignette, from what I've read, she isn't actually having sex, just 'sneaking into bed'.

I remember one of the common themes of lesbian lovers in the era before such things became acceptable in modern media was that the characters would "be reborn as (twin) sisters" so that "that way, they could be together all their lives" as a way of having lesbians be together in some 'socially acceptable' way. It'd probably work better as Gudako than Gudao, but it's a viable method for trying to open a platonic familial relationship route.

She probably doesn’t make a fuss about them because she’s insane, not stupid. She also seemed willing to share with Mash when she got drunk in an official manga.
