First we see a Bisharp win over an Infernape after taking SE STAB hits to the face. Now we're going to see a Gengar win over an Absol after taking SE STAB hits to the face. Is there no end to this madness?

Aerial Ace and Psycho Cut aren't STAB, and only the latter is SE. Should still be one dead Gengar, because god damn that guy cannot take hits, but eh.
Also this is pretty clearly anime Pokemon, not game Pokemon. Shout "Dodge it!" a lot and always aim for the horn and you'll win regardless of unimportant details like types, stats, and logic.

Honestly a Gengar winning against an Absol isn't as farfetch'd (kek) as a Bisharp winning against an Infernape.

Material such as this doesn't follow game logic to a T. The Meiling VS. Sakuya battle showed a clear case of Sakuya's tactical genius triumphing over Meiling's brute-force approach.

So what? This is not in the video games themselves. Adaptations go with all kinds of creative liberties themselves.
