There's no army I know that wouldn't take the chance of an easy decapitating strike when the enemy Commander makes themself a decoy. Inazuma has probably queued in the unspoken 4th great MMO role of Bait, a necessity in all pugged content.

A dead Zhuge Liang scares a live Sima Yi... If they know the enemy commander is knowingly making themselves a decoy, then it does beg the question of how devastating the trap must be to risk so much for it.

Also, they've "proven" that these abyssals are apparently dumb enough to ignore a shipgirl not in rigging and even ignore Rensouhou-chan so long as it's wearing a wig. She's probably right about it being the hat they go after, and she could slap the hat on Yuki-chan, and they'd all think she was the admiral.

That point about tactics might be true if the Abyssals were reborn 3k era war junks or other ancient ships but in WW2 the Allies jumped on Yamamoto as soon as they found out he was traveling unescorted and that's the kind of mentality that this enemy is likely to have.

Point being that it's not a special quality of the hat that attracts aggro but the fact that it marks the target as the Admiral as far as the black ships are concerned.
