I have to admit that this is also my reason for playing a female character in MMORPGs, if I'm gonna stare at my character all the time I may as well have a cute one that I don't mind looking at. Also, female clothes are way cuter and have more variations than male clothes in most online games.

I kinda admit too, I used to do that back when I used to play to Ragnarok Online (Ninja girls rules!)

Preach it, mate! Too bad the Oboro class isn't as nice-looking IMO. The Renewal classes feel like a bit too much sometimes.

I didn't know the Ninja class had a renewal. You see, my last time I played the game was when both Ninja and Gunslinger were still the most recent addition to the game.

So all the new things since then, I don't know much haha... But man, that time when I tried the game for the first time, was so great that I kinda wish to go back in time to do some more.

I pretty much stopped back then too, actually. A while after, apparently, there was this Renewal update that changed a lot of things, like 3rd classes to take after 2nd class (like, after being a Crusader/Paladin, you can become a Royal Guard) and a bunch of other stuff. It's a pretty different experience from before, but if you ever feel like reliving the old times, you can look for Pre-Renewal servers that don't have 3rd classes and all the other changes.

Oh, I think I'd like to try these new change, though do I have the motivation for? That is the question.
When I think back then, we really play our characters and do some kind of imaginary story. Now, I don't know if it's still the same thing or that change.
And again, that was my friends from high school who introduced me to the game so it was sure a lot of fun. Now, we completely lost contact after that.

Didn't expect to see Ragnarok Online talk here. I too did the same thing with my Priest when i used to hang around Payon or Prontera and just Heal random passerbys.

Haha, nostalgia got me when I saw a MMORPG and how the MC acted. I tried various job and gotta say my favorite was Ninja and Gunslinger.
At the same time, it was the only game I played, never did a Wow or something similar (and I liked those manga-like sprites). Then I tried some 3D MMORPG like Eden Eternal but that was quite a mess so I couldn't get into it.
Yep, I hold really good memory of Ragnarok Online and their private servers (from the lowest rate to the highest, though middle was the most pleasant to play), too bad that their didn't last that long but of license issue (at that time in France, the game was planned to be released officially so the private server were kinda a threat).

I play female characters about half the time in single-player RPGs or pen-and-paper with just a single group, but I generally don't do it in MMOs (at least, back when I played them), just because it caused a lot of social stumbling.

Doing stuff like that is nice, but can get a bit boring. I found doing teleports as a priest was a bit more enjoyable (you could socialize while waiting for the crowd to one location or another to queue up). That said, most of my time was spent as a wizard with an online friend's little sister, who played a cleric, using a frost/lightning build to grind levels. She did recoveries of other groups whenever it was safe (I'd frostied the mobs), though.

... And I only played Ragnarok Online back when it was in beta. The second advanced classes (like Whitesmith) coming out was the last thing I was there for.

When I played Mabinogi, I also chose to play a female character. Especially so when armour is far less of a factor compared to weapons. It became my quest to make my character the cutest arbalist ever to run around sniping all manner of creatures.

Oh wow, I didn't notice this whole Ragnarok talk here. In ragnarok in particular I played with whichever sex had the better clothes for a particular class [and just about everywhere else I play as a female]. I come back to it every now and then... Last character I made was an Oboro, too, centered around the Shadow Slash skill that teleports you right on the face of the target and hits the guy. It felt like the most ninja-like thing ever. Wonder what's going on the server right now...

I might try to play it again. I like to play both gender (Lord Knight and Gunslinger for male, Hunter and Ninja for female).

And I'm quite curious about those renewal, it's all new to me. As Ninja, throwing skills was pretty neat even though it's the least advised build except if you played in a High rate with Lvl 1000 as the max, it was like a non stop throwing which somehow stuns the enemy. Magic skills was fun to use too.

Heheh, I played as a throwing Ninja too. 2nd tier Ninja class (Kagerou for males, Oboro for girls) has a bunch of new skills for throwing and melee builds. One of them is a super version of Throw Huuma Shuriken that has more range, a reliable AoE, better damage, and faster cast times. There's also an Exploding Kunai-throwing skill, a skill where you just throw a ton of kunai into the area around you, and some other funny gimmicks.

You can also easily mix the melee with the throwing build for a more hybrid build too. There's a little bit of a sad thing that is that builds that kill monsters one-by-one are very very hard to level, and nobody wants you in their parties...

Also Kagerou and Oboro get skills that are different according to whether you are male of female, so Oboro gets a skills that increases/decreases attack or magic attack depending on your HP/SP, and Kagerou got the Thief's Double Attack, for example.

There is also a skill that improves the Ninja's Cast Time, so magic ninjas can potentially instant cast spells and spam them like no tomorrow. It feels amazing. Also, they have a skill that recovers up to 100% HP and 50% SP over 10 seconds, so they basically have no worries for their SP.

If you were interested in playing Renewel for Ragnarok Online, the funny thing is that, it "broke" leveling for Ninjas by making Kunais NEVER MISS. Even if you weren't going to make a throwing ninja, with 69 job class points anyway, you could just get 3-5 levels of Kunai throw and then go from level 10 to level 50 in like 10-20 minutes just throwing Kunais at level 40 Magmarings, even with the "Exp penalty". All it requires is at least start up money for Kunais (easy if you had another character already) and a teleport to the thor volcano. You could walk there but it's a little hard with a squishy level 12 fresh ninja with only like 100 hp.

You're even a girl on the net, huh?...
    A successful heal!
    Awright, now run for it!
Playing as a wandering healer* is surprisingly fun!
*A sort of playstyle where you heal random passerbys and then run off. If anyone knows if there's an English equivalent for this, feel free to add it in.
He's playing around on the net like this...?
    ...Say, Onii-chan.
    ...What!?
    ...Oh, that's not it, Mihari.
It's not that I'm playing as a girl...
I just want to have a cute avatar!
    Wahaha!
