Also, the way she is floating (the chest floats while the legs don't) suggests that she is floating because of the air remaining in her lungs, and if i remember correctly, Masamune got through her stomach, leaving her lungs intact.

Hmm, layman forensic pathology. Unfortunately I don't know how accurate that is in most fictional settings.

That'd be messed up, visiting the Forgotten City and seeing a wet decomposing Aeris floating around.
