Better than Toast
NOTE:
This is a collaboration with Rustle. He provided the sketch, I inked and coloured.
Follow his social media and check out his Patreon or Enty if you happen to be Japanese.
Despite being a favourite of many flat chest lovers, he struggles. So if you can, please don’t pirate his work and support him directly instead. You can read about the hardships of Japanese artists in this article I wrote about working as a porn illustrator both in Japan and outside of it.
How it all happened
Years ago, when I began my descent into the unsavory world of delicious flat chests, I came across the image you see below. I was amazed by the quality. So realistic yet stylized enough not to cross over to the uncanny valley. I would later go on to read an incredible doujin about a girl who never ages and from that moment on, I realized hentai didn’t just have to be about fan art or mindless fucking. I could write coherent stories and use satire to cope with my gradual loss of faith in humanity.
I could never imagine having my own website and promoting one of the god tier artists I admire, yet here I am years later presenting the first part of our collaboration. I’ve been trying to go at things alone for the past year and I figured I should heed my own advice and reach out to other artists. All it took was the help of a fan, Mr. 32, to contact Rustle and after a few exchanges, he sent me some unfinished drawings. When I finally felt ready to tackle them, I picked my favourite and went from there.
Extra notes about the art
I’ve held on to his sketches for a while because I wanted to wait until I had enough time and confidence in my skill to work on it. Eventually, I stopped being a pussy and decided on a breakfast scene since I’ve already covered lunch and dinner. Plus, you can never go wrong with food and porn. I chose to seat the girl next to a window because of how lighting affects the appeal of food. Good rule of thumb I learned from a professionally trained artist: always use natural lighting. The colours don’t look so sickening under sun light.
After watching an incredible blender tutorial on how to render bread, I decided on a thick slice of toast and a large egg, a stick of butter, and some good ol’ black coffee. Not only does it allow you to show how cute and petite the subject is in comparison, abnormally large portions remind me of Ghibli films like Howl’s Moving Castle. I’ll never forget the scene where they make breakfast. It’s one of the best ways to humanize a character.
