Oh, come on, he's telegraphed this so loudly it's being measured on the Richter scale. To have any other outcome at this point after all the foreshadowing he's done in the last few pages would be supreme trollery... So he's probably going to go through with Akashi. On Akashi's comment though, at least I personally would appreciate the power of utility over the power of brute force.
