BTW, I am from China, and just like foreign media press is often more enlightening than the local ones in analyzing abnormalities in Chinese politics, foreign media also have better sights in the logic of complete liberalism.
From your loose penalty to violent offenses, the privileges of war refugees & relative reluctance in accepting skilled, well-edu immigrants, the seemly contradiction between encouraging strong favor (rather than just acceptance) in homo/bisexual/transgender and embracement to conservative Islam, or why liberal values (decency) must go beyond survival & security.
