Coloring is so much better, but it looks like all they did was adjusted the chroma from the other image.
That is generally what happens in the final stage of drawing. After line and color, artists mess with hue/saturation. Once the base colors and shadows are down, it's much simpler and more efficient to adjust colors that way.
