Lamo. Reminds me of when dollar store first came out and people kept asking the poor clerks how much everything costs. Even though most people are pretty agreeable, when you see hundreds of people per day, sooner or later you will encounter the assholes of the Earth.
I worked for a brief time at a coffee shop a couple years ago for some extra income while I was preparing for a career change and the establishment had this deal where you could get a large for only $1.75 vs the medium which was $2.50. This metrosexual guy (v neck, SJW scarf and all) comes in and asks for a medium. I tell him about the deal.
"I don't have that much money on me, I'll go for the medium." "Oh, but sir, the large is cheaper." "Oh yeah, but I don't have enough money for it." "Ah, then would you like a small?" "Oh no, I want a medium." "... (at this point I'm not sure if I'm being crazy or something). Do you have $1.75?" "Yeah, I have like 3 dollars." "...*aneurysm intensifies* Then you have enough for a large." "But I don't want to spend that much! I just want a medium." "But the large costs less than the medium. Medium is $2.50, Large is only $1.75. We have a sale." "I understand dude, but the large is too big and I only want to spend $2.50" "You could just throw away the extra and save the 75 cents." "Why do you want me to buy the large? Do you get a commission or something? And wasting food is why people are starving around the world and why corporations are over fishing the oceans and destroying this planet..."
At this point I just rang him up for a medium, then he pulls out a freaking debit card that is inactive. I now know why some people are poor.

I'd just ring him for a large and write medium as the custom modifier. Always take the L in fast food, no matter how fucking asinine people are being. In the end it doesn't matter at all.
And these stories are why I went for a "traditional male job". Sure I have significant risk of getting my limbs cut of, electrocuted or set on fire. But at least I can actually throw idiots out of the building if they are being even the slightest bit of a hazard.
