"This used to be a peaceful park, full of life, tradition, and joy. A place where we shared stories with our Friends, and they watch over us from the stars. Until one day, they turn their backs.
Wildlands was the only game I was actively interested in playing this past couple years (Aside from GitS First Assault) and so far it does not disappoint. Of course, the fact that is is based on counter narcoterrorism may be my bias. Some people are complaining about lacking realism, but I mean, get real (pun intended). No one wants to play an LE simulator, it would be boring and aggravating AF, sitting around waiting for someone to make a move and having to deal with SJW lawyers pecking your back every turn. I think as far as bringing a fun game, Ubisoft did a good job, well actually I haven't gotten far into the story. This is Ubisoft, I expect there will be some kind of anti-American or anti-LE message somewhere down the line.

My concern is, is it repetitive? I know too many open world games that got repetitive too quickly, like the new Far Cry games.

I guess so? I'm not much of a gamer, I choose games mainly on the atmosphere and story. I like games like Rainbow Six, STALKER, Metro, Fallout, Syndicate, COD, and Free to Play games, all of which are pretty repetitive I guess. You can watch some gameplay footage and get an idea, I don't really know what is "in" for gaming so I don't think I would give you a very good idea.

Well, when you play the game, do you ever thought, "Hey, isn't this the same as the previous base/mission?" Like do the bases are very similar or do the missions feels like the previous one.
Games bound to have to repeat some elements, but a good game won't make you feel bored of it after repeating 3 times.

That... sounds like you play games for the settings more than anything. The atmosphere and story for almost every game you mentioned is all over the place to the point that one sometimes contradicts the other. (Fallout's atmosphere is pure parody, but the story is almost always hardcore grimdark.)

I am having fun personally. I only have a few hours in the game so I'm really not sure but there are plenty of jobs and while the jobs are in the same kind of format as far as how the gameplay progresses (stalk, tag, kill, repeat), the variation in terrain makes it feel like a new experience each time. There is a lot of traveling in the game (which gives it a realistic feeling without going in real time and distance). It kind of is a roleplay kind of game since it is banking heavily on you thinking out your plan of attack than just rushing in and completing the objective (which you can do. Stealth is not necessary but it can be easier). Like most tom clancy games, I think this is best played on the hardest difficulty and pretending that it is IRL and you only have one life because it forces you to slow down and take it all in.
You definitely want to play this for co-op/multiplayer though. The team AI suck like all Tom Clancy games. There is too much micromanaging that you would have to do to pull off really effective team strategies. You really only need one human player to get going. 3 may be a fireteam, but in the video game it is a crowd since switching to and from single player is pretty seamless and so people can screw up and drop out every so often. I think it is better to work with only one person. I think this would be a great game to play with a friend.
I'm leaning towards the verdict that it is repetitive, but my bias for the concept and the love of the atmosphere is letting me overlook the repetition. If you want a game to play with friends though, I would definitely pick it up, as that is where you can get a lot of variation IMO.

>Play with friends Welp, one reason why I won't buy it
Seriously though, I never expected the AI to be good. And I did watched some video on the gameplay, certainly looks like fun. Maybe I'll try to persuade some of my friends to join me.
"Luckily" for me I don't need to worry about it since my full price splurge for this month is the new Mass Effect being a Sci-fi nerd for life. (also no ongoing story for Bioware to fuck up so it's unlikely for the ending to enrage me :p)
