I'm beginning to wonder: What is even the portion size of soba? How are people able to dozens in one sitting?

I just wondered the same thing. Apparently:

The portion was not much bigger than a generous mouthful,

However I haven't worked out what a mouthful is... half an oz ? ( first thought was 2 oz, but that would make 200 oz = 12.5 lb. Even half an oz would be 50 oz = 3 lb and a bit. )

I couldn't eat 3 lb at a sitting.
