What're you saying?! If an 'ufufu' shipgirl like her can't even handle that kind of sex appeal, she won't even be able to get proper training!! Her personality is already like Kashima without the sexiness to back it up, and her character sits squarely in Kisaragi's shadow, with DesDiv 8 being nowhere near as popular as 6 or 7, so being stuck in a uniform that doesn't let her character traits shine through really handicaps her.

I beg to differ. Arashio's plain uniform can show her fidelity to Asashio-class AND makes one direct his attention to her character. It's just like Haruna's summer CG. She may show less than other girls, but it just makes her shine even more.
As for Kisaragi, I found her teasing too direct.

You can say that, but Kisaragi has twice the fan art, and the both of them are losing by an order of magnitude to the likes of the 6th DesDivvers.

Even if you want her to be the precocious girl that acts older in spite of being forced into the destroyer age ghetto with her still-childish sisters... Now you're just describing Yuugumo's character archetype.

Honestly, though, if Arashio's manner of speech reminds me of anyone, it's Tatsuta without the yandere vibes...
