Yep. The Hiroshima Toyo Carp lost the Japan Series to the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. Though perhaps not to the same extent, it was big in Japan similar to how the Cleveland Indians vs. Chicago Cubs World Series was in the United States: no matter who won, it was going to make news.
