It could be because the nearest thing about girls and motors from Japan related to danbooru content are racing queens, that kind of stuff is too western. Kind of odd considering there has always been anime like Aa! Megami-Sama and Mach GoGoGo barely covering such topics.

I've seen a lot of vehicle pr0nz, but it tends to be focused on motorcycles and those funny looking compact european cars. Aren't cars a rarity in Japan due to the space available or something? Maybe that is why?

It tends to have to do with the effort in the comment. "dis hot lol" will get much more negative attention than a more affluent and descriptive thought. It falls in the same vein as the rule about limiting emoticon usage.

A girl like Ushio? No, because she's pretty well the antithesis of what I find sexually attractive; 100% meek, short stout build, gigantic tits (in this image, even lemon-shaped). Would I feel bad for her and help her out if I could? Sure. Would I be swashbuckling my fly zipper? Nah. Gimme a more confident and/or energetic personality, taller, middle-of-the-line breasted girl, then I'll probably get stupid.

Well, when it comes to motor vehicles and Japan I also think in Initial D themes (the Girls und Panzer movie is a good proof of that). You would think at least the Dekotora theme would be seen some more around here.

I wouldn't say she's "the antithesis" of what I find attractive, but after a lot of doujins, especially Himura Kiseki and Otoufu, my reaction to Ushio in real life would be more "adopt as little sister/daughter" and "give liberal headpats", alongside 6th DesDiv and Asashio.

I work as car mechanic by.. Peugeot/Volvo.. its my dudy to recognize cars like that.

Real life, I think all of us would go with Route 1.
