The spitfire MK. 23 was never taken out of prototype stages and even if it was it was an almost exact copy of the MK. 22 witch was armed with 4x20mm cannons. this plane is either a MK. XIV, MK. XVII, or a MK. XVIII as all of these variants used the "e" wing design which utilized 2x20mm cannons and 2x.50 cal M2 Browning machine guns. the easiest way to tell that it is not an earlier version of the spitfire is due to the fact that in relation to the cockpit the guns are ordered as follows, one .50 cal and one 20mm per wing.
