This story made no sense. You don't become friends with someone who rips your limbs off.
If I could regenerate limbs like Cell or Majin Buu from DBZ easily (Especially Buu who doesn't even seem to be in pain) then that'd totally be the equivalent of young boys pushing each other at the playground.
Or college frat boys giving each other an "Initiation" before they can join the group. I see no problem in this story.
In fact, I think the college Initiation is even worst then Koishi simply ripping off a couple pieces of Nue. Some of the crazy shit I did back in college was not fun at all. but hey, everyone went through the same shit to get welcomed into the fold. I still am life long friends with some of them from college.
