To be fair, Saber was ment to be a Male but had to be changed to fit Shirou since the orignal Idea of Female Protag and Male Co-host was seen as "unfit" for male otakus cause Type Moon felt that Otaku's didn't want a strong Female Lead.
There is also the fact that the Artist did a genderswap of Saber and liked it soo much, he forced the direction change as well cause he didn't want to throw away his Female King Author.

Problem is in cases like this, it's not "accuracy error" as much as "we designed a half-naked character, and let's slap a historical name on her with 0 relations to what she's supposed to represent".
The issue to this character is: - She has none of Attila's personality. - She doesn't represent anything Attila is supposed to represent. - Her being Attila isn't even an important point to her character. - Her goddamn sword is fuckin' named Photon Ray when calling it Sword of Mars or Izten Kardja would've at least showed they care to look up Wikipedia.
Point is this very same character, with same design, personality and abilities could've been called George Washington and nothing would change.
It's a new low to "not giving a damn to accuracy".
