    It is indeed; also, it's broadly considered that 大 is modeled after a person standing in Kuma's pose there - since it means 'big' and that's about the biggest amount of space a person can take up (in 2(ish) dimensions).

    小 is small, and Kuma's kinda in it in the second pose - she even has the little flick on the center stroke.
