If yer think that's bad enough, you should check out the Indians.

Kinda like green tea. Everything must have a green tea flavor.

The curry that Japan uses is based on the british version of curry which was pretty much their influences during WW1 which for the saying is not a dead ringer of the Indian version of curry, that was inherited to Singapore so... Yeah
Or so I remember watching Begin Japanology on Curry and based on the info that Alton Brown gave during his good eats show that talks about Curry and "what are spices" segment
