In a previous job I had involving some rural surveillance, one of the components of the tryouts was the instructor dumping a bucket of creatures on your neck unexpectedly and seeing if you move or make noise. Some of them were fake, but the point was made.
millipedes are terrifying up close.
I don't think I could hold that beetle with such a cheerful look as main-protagonist-chan is.
