and the fact that the 3 aces of the german squad MISSED PENALTY THEIR SHOTS
There were two powerful charms at work. The one that Germany had never beaten Italy in official matches, and the one that Germany had never lost a penaly shootout. Ultimately, the second one won, but the damage made on the continuum had been enough that then Germany lost to France, a thing that had not happened since 1958. ;)

Ehh, no. We did lose because of stupidity (Schweinsteiger outstretches his arms to reach to sun or something like that). Arms/Hands don't belong there in football/soccer. That Hummels and Gomez were missing was true, but not the decisive point in this match.

I understand your frustration but not the Stupidity you speak about Schweinsteiger, winning a position in the area is essential is each play, if you are slow the player must try to get back the soccer ball and keep back the oponent. Schweinsteiger's failure is understandable if you think how late he was to react when he lost his own position in the area in front of Evra.

The funny thing is that the opponent wasn't in a good position. He maybe was late, but that is never a reason to raise one own arms above the head. Never in this area since the punishment is most likely a penalty. That's not really worth it when the opponent is in a non-threatening position.

Tha ball goes to Evra obviously, this player reacts faster and cuts Schweinsteiger placement, it was a misfortune for him to react like that, but I think between let the ball pass to Evra and do nothing is worst, than the desperate reaction in that moment, so he reacts like any football player who sees danger in a play and must react fast.
Im not saying to you: "You should forgive him", what I mean is that you must understand how difficult is to react correctly in front of desperate situations in soccer.
Also, probably that play will be the trigger for criticizing him, adding how old he is and that trash talk that most of the sport journalist likes to do.
Germany is a team who always recovers from any fall, and when it does does it greatly, last Euro ends 3rd, and ends as World Champion in Brazil 2014.

About the last paragraph since we can discuss the first one over and over again: I seriously hope that this won't be the case. It's just one tiny mistake. A stupid one, but he is also only a human. And Schweini did so many things for this team, it would just be unfair towards him if there will be trash talk. And as I look over soccer forums here: Schweinsteiger isn't attacked that much. So I think the "anger" will be away soon.

Of course, Germany is a very resilent team, that's why is so respected in the entire world, and most of the teams try to follow their playstyle and example.
