Yep. I can see why the devs made it so people can continue even if they didn't finish E-5.

And I just succeeded clearing E5 after lowering it down to easy and chanting Pola Palo Pilu Popilu every time I sortie for last dance. And I had 13 last dance in E-5 easy, not remember many higher.
