In the episode it didn't appear the pilot recognized it, but those looking over the video recovered from it certainly recognized it (webm - dropbox link).

Gotta wonder where this fa-78 came from given how FA-78-1 was a failure that has weird conflicting reports of being scrapped when it was still only on paper while johnny took one out on A Baoa Qu. Wonder if it's made from the rx-78-8?
