They say a picture's worth a thousand words, but this one too random to figure out what's going on.

I'm sure that wasn't the correct translation. Wait for the regular translator to properly translate.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt here and assume you aren't aware of how things work around here. Translation notes here are, generally, 'crowdsourced'. Someone literate in Japanese (or some other applicable language) comes by and provides a translation, out of say, the goodness in his heart to let other people read the same comic or work of art.

Sometimes these translations can be inaccurate. That's when the crowdsource model comes into play. Other people who are also literate in Japanese can correct these translation notes, improving their accuracy.

It is not your prerogative to arbitrarily and one-sidedly decide translation notes to be incorrect and flat-out delete them. Especially not if you can't even understand the source language, which is apparently clear as otherwise you wouldn't have deleted them (reworded, maybe, or modified, yes, but not delete.)

I'm assuming you're declaring my translation to be incorrect because of the use of the word "realfag". In which case I can assure you that it's not. Shouko uses the word リア充 here, a derogatory 2ch term (Japanese netslang) for somebody with a fulfilling life in the real world. The appropriate translation is indeed realfag. Or normalfag, whichever floats your boat.

Shouko also elongates some vowels in the original, which I've reflected in the translation.

I am generally a reliable translator hereabouts, and have extensive experience. You can take a look at my translation note records and some of the comments other users have left on the posts I've translated for further proof. Ask around on the forums if you're still unsatisfied.

As such, I'm reverting my previous translation notes. As a gesture of good faith I will not be locking the notes. Any attempt to delete them again will be viewed as note vandalism and earn you a negative record.

I can vouch for his translations. They are appropriate and accurate.

Check Shouko's profile on her Danbooru wiki page; it might make a bit more sense.

This has the switch in action. Its more of a way to cope with stress than anything.

I was experimenting with using Fraktur/Blackletter fonts to indicate the moment Shouko switches on her Death Metal personality (yannow, that same typeface used for Medieval writing and beloved by metal bands and the Nazis alike), but I couldn't get them to work properly. Seems like none of them are web safe, and they would default to some serif font (like Times New Roman) instead on most browsers.

I guess I could use all caps instead. Would that look good to you guys? Or maybe something like Century Gothic?

(In comparison, the original text indicates the switch by using katakana.)

Well, sound effects don't really need a translation.

Not only is the translation accurate, but the entire joke is within Syoko's character.

#1: Syoko has been a shut-in outcast for most of her life. She has tremendous jealousy of those who enjoy a healthy social life. This is addressed and revealed in her drama track in the Cinderella Master 025. She is especially goaded by romantic occasions like the Valentines Day/White Day tradition in Japan.

#2: Syoko commonly snaps -- when it's not something social life or fear related -- when she excessively giggles or hears a mushroom pun. The breathing exercise she uses, is unintentionally paced like a laughing pattern, until it actually becomes one. That's what finally triggers the transformation.

This is really just a straw that breaks the camel's back. As mentioned before: Syoko already shows her unease at being in public (fear) and is witnessing people around her display normal social lives (jealousy). Given her persona, it's amazing she even lasted as long as she did. The Producer was playing with fire and he got burned.

in the first part of the event, is Syoko who asks the producer to accompany her to go to a store "Mushroom-shaped objects" in Harajuku (Wa, really want See That shop xD) because she is afraid to be in crowds.

Metal-switch seems to work ALSO as a form of self-defend themselves when she feels too pressured.

Exactly, and a way to let out her panic and stress as well.
