Nice to see that Akagi's Arrows of Correction did make Nagato cook something for Ikazuchi for once. And that they still have regular baked potato to supplement the sweet potatoes that Ushio would've brought had she been there.

Don't think Akagi's "Arrows Of Correction" have anything to do with it.
Could be a case of Nagato tasting the Yams to make sure Akagi isn't trying to poisen the Akatsuki sisters again and then to be on the safe side, prepers more food herself.

I still say Nagato was eating Ikazuchi's sweet potato because she burnt her own. Then she made extra baked potatoes after getting shot in the hair.

Did you read the strip where the Akatsuki sisters first appers?
In a fit of unexplained anger, Akagi tries to poisen them with Poisened Pies and Nagato tries to save them by offering to eat them herself.

I suspect that was a non-canon setup, given how Akagi dotes on the destroyers and only snaps at the mention of her weight or when Kaga does something stupid.

It's more of a "Characterization Marches On"?
That strip was ment to explain not only why Later-Akagi is different from Earlier-Akagi but also why the Akatsuki Sisters adore Nagato.

I thought that the reason the Akatsuki sisters adored Nagato was because Nagato always dotes on them in return and plays with them along with helping Haruna too

The Incedent with the pies was the first time Nagato did what you said.
Up and till then Nagato's characterization was more on the line of a "Curius Big Eater".

Now that I think about it, Later-Nagato's seems to be a compesite of Earlier-Nagato and the Tenryuu Sisters which would explain why Hisahiko hasn't used the latter two in later strips.
