The only beef I have with semi auto shotguns is that the only big advantage of a shotgun is to change ammunition types quickly. You can't do that with a semi auto unless you change magazines. One cool role they are filling is anti-material work in my local police department. They actually have a guy in a helicopter with a saiga 12 with a scope mounted on it so they can quickly take down cars.
