The mod approval system confuses me. On paper it makes sense but then the mods disapprove of images that clearly have parent images that have already been approved and other art that clear meets standards for the fanart. You guys aren't art critics.

Sounds like you guys are biased as fuck.
Did this image actually ever get deleted, or are you just calamitizing your mammaries because it waited until it got near the top of the moderation queue (which is sorted oldest-first) before getting approved?

It got disapproved by multiple moderators when the poster posted the comment, just like every other KC post. Most of us don't know how the approval system actually works. All we see is every other KC post tend to get multiple moderators disapproving it due to quality etc., even in cases like this where others image children were approved previously.

Ah, that's no big deal. Everybody has different tastes and it only takes one to like it.
Approvers are pretty screwed either way. Before, when there was no public showing of how many had bypassed the image, people were given the impression that any autodeleted post must have just been seen by zero approvers and therefor needed a ruckus raised to bring attention to it, even though the various help articles (that few people read) tell them that isn't the case. The count was added to assure people that their posts were at least being reviewed (and to give feedback if a post wasn't approved) and now the whole of us are labeled fascist art Nazis when a few people don't want to approve a popular post. It'd probably be best if the count were hidden until a post is deleted.
I ended up making my change suggestion in topic #11745.

Really wasn't aware of this.
If you're interested in the approval process, about:mod queue has all the details laid out. Just know that currently the site is looking to transition to get rid of the Janitor level and switching to using a flag on any account as to whether they have screened uploads and/or can approve posts, which I think regular users could see an example of on my profile.
Eh, Chanpuru there was just jumping the gun for some reason. If I remember correctly, this image was approved after only around one and a half day of waiting after I uploaded it. No problem at all in any case.
