If it smells bad, it will taste bad.. But it can look bad and taste good.
Durian fruit smells strong yet it tastes sweet. as for look, it isn't that hideous but kinda slimy. But yeah, I have yet to find a food that both looks hideous and smell bad yet tasted good. It's either one of them.

Depends on the person. I offered durian to some of my friends. Immediately left the area. When they tried it, it was like "NOPE. NEVER AGAIN." To me it seemed fine, but to other people who never tried it, they won't like it. They said it tastes like sweet, sweaty socks.
