Fight for Groudon and Kyogre
I figured I'd get started on uploading some of my old art to this account. I won't upload everything that I've drawn in the past, just a handful of drawings that I still enjoy (and some other doodles that I like).
I drew this back in 2011 as part of a project I was working on where I drew some of my trainer characters fighting the various Legendaries in the Pokémon world. This was definitely the most complicated out of the pieces I drew, as well as my favorite.
Anyway, this takes place in the lake at the center of Sootopolis City in the Hoenn region, where both Groudon and Kyogre went to duke it out (from the scene in Emerald). Two of my trainer characters went to calm the beasts, but that's easier said than done.
The female trainer's Typhlosion was trying to do a sneak attack on Groudon from above, but she got stopped by a direct hit from its Lava Plume attack. The male trainer had his Venusaur try to hold Groudon back a bit using his vines, while the other trainer orders her shiny Gyarados to use a Dragon Rage while it's distracted. Gyarados is also constricting Kyogre, who has been attacking the male trainer and froze him to a rock underwater with its Ice Beam. He sent out his Kingdra to protect him as he tries to get free, but Kyogre is charging up another attack. Also, the female's Pidgeot and her Alakazam are preparing an aerial assault on Groudon by combining Protect, Psychic, and Aerial Ace to do as much damage to the beast as possible.
I'm pretty damn happy with how this came out, though. It took a while to try to do the 'half-underwater' effect, and it was hard to make it look like it was raining and sunny at the same time (thanks to Groudon's and Kyogre's abilities) but I'm happy with the final product.
