And despite just how happy she is, and how much she wanted it, Zuikaku's out of luck since Shoukaku alone is the Crane to get Kai Ni in the patch. Zuikaku Kai Ni's gonna be way down the line. Probably whenever a second Catapult is added via quest, and it's a quest that will probably require Shoukaku Kai Ni.

Kinda bites since I kinda really like Zuikaku but don't care much for her sister.

They said they'd put catapults as event reward, though.

According to the translators over at Himeuta, the developer tweets specifically mention "future quest rewards" for more proto-flight decks, so the main theory is not an event reward (At least not for a few more. Having the hardest to earn prize available again so soon would require it to be even *harder* to get the second time around or it'd piss off a *lot* of people who suffered to earn the thing), but a quest reward in a similar vein to what I posted.

Also for those who are wondering if it's just speculation or not, the Devs just tweeted a couple hours ago: "Shoukaku Kai Ni this month. Zuikaku Kai Ni sometime this year."

Which means at some point more Kai Ni carriers will require a Prototype Flight Deck Catapult, probably for Kaga and Akagi when the time comes. Also Shoukaku was hinted all the way through the event. Mainly the plane reward fairy (Type 97 Torpedo Bomber Murata Squadron) and the upgrade plane reward requirement quest.

The Admiralty's going to chew him for this though as he brought the two hard hitting BB's he could even field aside from his wife and sister-in-law.

To be clear, the info about catapult obtainable from next next event is from a totally unofficial Japanese blog, while the infi about it cam be obtain from quest of indefinite future is from a somewhat official magazine interview

and dev is to a certain extent nore M than the admiral in this manga

Fuuuuuu! My Shoukaku is not even Kai! And I already prepared Zuikaku for Kai Ni at lvl 80s too!

He says he's going to enjoy that too. He does treat his shipgirls well, whatever else you say about him. He is doing an off-the-books run in order to get that flight deck for Zuikaku.

Wait. Even if he ran everything easy up to E-5, he could still run E-6 on medium. And then E-7 on easy. Or that's how our world works since our uh "superiors" probly don't care how we use our resources. So M-admiral has been forbidden by his superiors from running anything higher than easy since he has terrible resource management? Reminds me of Inazuma. Even more than that, our admiral here is doing this with 11 hours left on the clock? I wish him all the best.

It's not so much bad resource *management* as much as it is "whatever it takes to Hard clear everything." He got scolded because doing everything on hard was deemed "just for his own ends." and not actually worth it as a whole.

In short, his superiors are of the "easy mode everything unless required otherwise." type of mindset.
