The MC was always there and cannot be stopped. That is part of the rules. However she can be the POV and thus never appear.

Sure it's not just underwater? To be sure, there could arguably be a clearer depiction of where the water surface is, if that's the case.

Hm.. now that I look at them in the first panel, they are indeed in the ocean... but yeah, the sea level isn't shown, unless it's an angled view from above. I figured water ripples or some effect of them being in the water would have been more indicative. I dunno, maybe yuureidoushi was being rushed. I'll remove it in that case since I wouldn't know for sure.
