    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 1729

So this is why you brought a cart along, eh, Sanae-san.

Its alcohol content isn't that high, so even I can drink it. It's ridiculously cheap to buy over there, too, since there's no liquor tax. Well, you'll be charged a duty at Customs if you buy this much, though. (^^;)

Reader-added tags consist of "Importation" and "love_beer?" (in English).

We've brewed up quite a survey for you:

    Which beer do you prefer?
    • Kirin
    • Sapporo
    • Asahi
    • Suntory
    • Baird Brewing

Anyone tried both Japanese and Western beer? If there is, I'd like to know how different the Japanese beer tastes compared to the standard ones say Heineken.

Just go buy a tallboy of Kirin or Sapporo. It's predominantly the same to other American adjunct macros.
I feel it has a tendency to be a little cleaner and fresher tasting, but it's also got next to no "flavor" (not that standard macros have much to begin with, but in comparison to more quality things, even like a standard Sam Adams). You trade away the "skunk" of most American macros for a "beer-ish soda." However, what I like about them is that they're not quite so sweet in general (PBR is a giant offender of this, since they not only rely on malt, but also directly add corn syrup).

It's quite nice for drinking with food if you know you're going to have to knock back "a few," but overall as a beer, they're just rice-adjunct beers with less hops.

Sapporo probably has the mildest "flavor" between it, Kirin, and Asahi. All three seem very similar to the big-name U.S. beers as well as to most lagers. You might not like them so much if you like ales (especially if you are the type to go for IPAs), but anyone going for a milder taste, they aren't bad.

Though, honestly, the mention of fruit beers in the comic reminds me of ciders as well as lambics (especially the Lindemann's brand), as they're about the only other types of alcohol I'll drink semi-regularly.

Well there is Asahi Black, which is a black lager (which is twice more expensive than a regular Asahi Super Dry here where I live).

And so I bought Taiwan Beer.
    Hwuh?
    No, why?
    Wait, whaaat!?
Say, Kogasa, are there any plans after this to buy souvenirs and such?
    30 cans of it.
    No Mercy
Is it okay to buy some Taiwan Beer?
    The thing about Taiwan Beer?
It's fruit-flavored beer made in Taiwan!
Sometimes they sell it in Japan, too.
    Fine by me. What's up?
We'll put some in your bag too, Kogasa.♡
