Don't undermine your achievement Dai-chan. Just because there were many variables and stipulations doesn't mean you didn't defeat the chief maid at her own game. Everyone wins and loses and you proved that you can soundly defeat one of the high rankers with a little ingenuity.

Well, as she says, her goal was to have Cirno defeat Sakuya, so she's purposely keeping her own contribution on the down low.

I don't think that speculation is sound, since water and ice are two different things when it comes down to flash heating if I recall correctly.

You mean the part where she says Sakuya can make water hot and thus melt ice in the same way? I think it just involves her speeding-up time for the area around the ice so that it melts instantly, not literally manipulating its temperature.

Wouldn't that work by speeding up the particles in the water which are going only so fast, then in less than a second speeding it up to make it hot. Still wouldn't that cause some sort of like instantaneous explosion of energy from the instant particle speed change?

When she made a plant instantly bloom despite it needing 60 years, she didn't need whatever that plant needs to make it bloom. It simply happened as if she skipped all the time between "current time" and "bloom time". Here, it would go from "time when water is frozen" to "water after ice melted". I think it's the same mechanism she uses to show the same object from various timelines at the same time.
Even if it works how you say, by accelerating particles, the speed would likely be relative to the modified time of the area, so there would probably be no problems.
Still, it's magic AND fanfiction, it works however the writer wants.
