It was in Akatsuki's book that has never been scanned as far as I know, I can't read what it says, but in the Pixiv preview for it, you can see him presenting her with a ring box.

This was the post immediately after the one where Aoba quizzed us on who the first wife was and promised us the answer on the next update, so I just assumed Aoba meant this book, she even pops up at the end of the preview. And actually, I used Google Translate on the comments for that post, and they seem to corroborate that Akatsuki is indeed the first wife.

In my eyes I've always often thought it was just the admibro being nice really. He gave rings to other girls so I'm not too sure where his affections really lie. I've always been rather uncomfortabe to the concept of romancing the rather childlike DDs even if age doesn't really apply to them.

Always preferred a Father and Daughter or Sibling like relationship between the admiral and the DDs. But that's just me not really comfortable with the lolicon crowd.

And to my knowledge Ooichi is probably the first to be this forward to her affections to the Admibro as I recall. Again I may have forgot some other interactions but Ooichi being pretty much naked in front of a half naked admiral is probably the farthest any of Kouji's shipgirls have gone with admirbro.

Still need to see some of his unscanned doujins though. Here's hoping they get scanned and translated.

Can confirm, just re-read the doujin now. Without spoiling, Akatsuki was one of his first ships, and seems to be the first to reach lv 99. The Admiral has good reasons for ringing her first, not just because she was the first to get there. Akatsuki was the first girl he Married.
