Today is "Samidare-ki", the anniversary of the death of singer-songwriter Murashita Kouzou. I knew him since I was a child because he sang one of the opening themes of anime Maison Ikkoku. Since then, many of his songs gave me much comfort and strength. With my deepest sympathies...
24 June, Murashita's death anniversary, is also called "the Death Anniversary of Early Spring Rain (samidare-ki)" after lyrics of ”Hatsukoi (First Love)”, one of his signature pieces. The song starts with the phrase "The rains of early spring are emerald green..."
