Again.. I'm at lost of what does this mean..please explain.. (I don't think whatata relates to kenshiro..)
I'm not a good explainer but I'll try to as clear as possible.
The joke here is "Winner" is "Atari" in Japanese, and "Atatata" as in Kenshiro battle cry. So when Yamashiro is already excited she's gonna get "Atari" word (the only revealed word is "Ata") she get "Atata" instead.
The translator here is trying to carry the joke to english, with "W" from Winner but turn out it's Whatata instead. Because "Winner" and "Atatata" didn't match to make the joke. So the "wh" part has to be added to match both words. Probably that's why you think whatata isn't related to Kenshiro because he uses without them.
That's precisely what I did! I mean, there are ways to make it work with Atatata. Such as 'You're a( winner)' > 'You're already dead' to keep it Kenshiro, or A prize or something; but that doesn't work as well as 'winner'.
