    "Game System"
United States of Abyss(or Abyss Allies) have achieved victory through the awesome power of its Culture. Its civilization's greatness -the magnificence of its monuments and the power of its artists- have astounded the world! Poets will honor it for as long as beauty brings gladness to a weary heart...

Pretty sure it's a Domination Victory,USS is so powerful and wealthy they can afford to give their people plenty of entertainment and still pump out ships and military supplies to drown the shipgirls with.
Which, now that I think about it,is probably what you have to do to get Cultural Victory anyway...

At least the captured Ship girls were being treated somewhat humane and enjoying themselves. Could be way worse.
The Soviets will show you how POW are really treated.

And let's not even go on about the Japanese or German's.

The Domination Victory happened a turn earlier. The user pressed one more turn and got the cultural victory the next turn.

Fun facts: The USA comprised 40% of global GDP right before World War 2. Just after it ended, the USA had risen to over 50% of global GDP. The US had about 10 times as much of everything that could possibly matter in a war than Japan, even before they completely decimated Japan's industry, and when Japan had taken control of the Philipines' oil.

There's a reason they called the US a "superpower" in the aftermath of WW2...

But hey, look on the bright side - pretty much all the IJN ships in this doujin were sunk in real history, so if they surrender now, they're actually not getting nearly as obliterated as they were in actual history. (Plus, US gets a free cuddly Inazuma!)

    It's actually pretty sad..
The saddest character in this is Tenryuu..
It's one thing if she's wallowing over the fact that noone cares..
But because she enjoys the abyss also, feels like she's broken..
Sure the subs are enjoying happy life in prison.. But escape from life is bitter..

That was a nice take on the story but a rather cheap shot at world economics for that time.

Behavior like that in the end will only succeed in bringing ruin upon the whole community, as attacks like that will simply discourage others from releasing art due to worries of offending someone somewhere and end up receiving harassment.

Because the Pixiv stalking crazies found the artist?

Supposedly, incidents like this have been happening to other Pixiv artists lately (actually its not uncommon in general..) . An artist gets targeted for something and is chased off the internet through threats/stalking/harassment.

Well that's bullshit. Looks like Kancolle is trying to top Touhou in having the worse community.
Incidentally, why they go after random people but not people like Masara is a big mystery. You think someone like him would be a prime target.
I mean...not that I want him to be gone after.

Wonder what's this artist big story. Maybe he got into an argument or some other random bullshit.

I don't think this comic was the issue, since this was uploaded on Pixiv a year or two ago the last time I checked. However, I have noticed a lot of fan art getting taken down more often these days on Pixiv for some reason too.

Oh, I meant posted here, since I checked a few days before and even bookmarked it over Pixiv. It's likely that the extra traffic Pixiv got from here caught the attention of certain people

So it's all danbooru's fault. Accursed cardboard box! You have always been the cause of all the evil in this world, from animals being abandon on the streets to shipments being completely destroyed upon arrival.

    When will it end!?!

Actually, it's missing the rather acute racism Americans held for the Japanese at that time. They wouldn't just ignore Japanese people walking around in California when there was a paranoia about Japanese spies, and all the Japanese people were sent into camps. It's not like the Americans ended the war by dropping Micky Mouse and Charlie Chaplain on Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

Japanese POWs were absolutely not treated with prisons where they were fed so much good food and given such luxury that they wished to be prisoners forever. In fact, since the rules of war demanded prisoners be fed the same food as front-line soldiers, they got the absolutely horrific food we fed GIs that German (who were given the best food their country could offer as soldiers) POWs routinely complained of failure to comply with the rules of war because they refused to believe America would deign feed its soldiers the swill we were feeding them...

Beyond that, Disneyland wasn't opened until 10 years after the war, and several of the landmarks were, as already mentioned, not built yet either.

Plus, it's kind of an unfair comparison - this is basically comparing Japan as it was during the desperate end of the war to America during its postwar golden age boom period. Even America had rationing during the war, and any Japanese soldier old enough to be in uniform could remember a time before the war started, when times weren't so tight.

I would also have to point out that "having the resources to supply both guns and butter" and "culture" are not the same thing; Imperial Japan's lack of resources aren't a direct consequence of its culture, (at least, past the Edo era's isolationism,) it's a consequence of being a volcanic island chain, and therefore having access to no native oil or iron.

The only "American" they're shown speaking to is Re on page 2, who is, uh, incredibly racist towards them.

I generally think KanColle isn't a very good vehicle for mining the human condition, anyway. It's a mostly light and fun place where the maps are named after food and people speak in catchphrases.

Unfortunately, this artist seems to be ceased all activities due to [according from what I heard] the Japanese Far-Right's threat; since November 2015.

You abandoned your mission and went on a tour of an ENEMY COUNTRY!!
Take a look! Right now, the docks have been burned down by air raids, so we can't do repairs. Even the shipgirls who are heavily damaged can sortie with 88cm Bamboo-type Equipment!!
One hundred million honourable deaths! Stay on the offensive!!
What is the meaning of this!!
Bringing with them their culture and wealth.
Afterwards, countless Abyssal Shipgirls surged into the Naval Base.
It was said that those ship girls who enjoyed it,
Before long, the day of defeat came to the shipgirls.
were naturalized to the Abyssal Fleet before they noticed it.
