HF was Fate/Stay Exposition Dump & Kitchen Edition. There's a lot of stuff they could cut out. Especially if they basically ignore the Illya stuff and pull the Zelretch dagger out of their asses instead of having it and it's creation be a major plot point.

The Jeweled Sword just took a long time because it involved a lot of setup that was already being handled off camera. All of the important parts about its creation could be condensed. I'm not certain how much of Ilya can be cut out since she provides the Good Ending and its explanation.
It feels like half a week was artifically added into this route to build a sense of paced progression, so they could definitely trim for time by joining different mornings afternoons and evenings into fewer days.
... they could go for Sparks Liner High and play it like a Bolivian Army Ending. Think of all the stuff they could cut out.

Are you nuts? The route is all about character development and relationships, you'd kill the tension and atmosphere totally by shaving it to two hours. There was infodump, but most of the longer stuff was done by Kirei. I can agree with having less of his yammering on with the trolling and getting to the point.
The nonsense of the anti-HF brigade going on about it being just cooking and fucking is as bad as saying the UBW movie was good enough because it was silly shounen, and only needed the battles. UBW was great because it had 25 eps to properly re-evaluate things. My hope is that they realize the absurdity of trying to go for a movie and just put the project on hiatus until they get the time and funds to produce it.
Heaven's Feel was all about the character development.
It was a long route, yes. But it was a very important route. It showed Shirou's development from an ally of Justice to an ally of Sakura. And Kotomine's crap, while long winded, was extremely important for that development to happen.
And you can't cut out Illya's stuff, again, her role was every bit as important to Shirou's development as, well, everything that happened in that route.
I am hoping for a decent adaptation but am massively disappointed that yet again, HF is getting the shaft just because it's a more development-related route than an action route.
I find reading these comments partially hilarious because of the fact that it turned out that we ended up getting not 1 but 3 movies that showcase the entire route, and the turning points are every bit as visceral as they needed to be.
While mine is accompanying nii-san...Nee-san's ending is living together with senpai...What is with this difference...?............Fufu...
