Stuff like this is why I liked the series, but at some point it became about rape.
I haven't even watched the show yet, and I stopped following the manga a while ago because it stopped any kind of progression and just became "how many more monster girls can we cram into a single house".

That too. I felt that saturation had been achieved with Meru, but no, just kept on throwing more and more in.

To be fair, they stopped adding girls to the MC's harem/house a while ago. Now it's more "How can we force the group to go somewhere that will inevitably involve one or more new monster girls (or maybe the occasional monster guy)." Also, Lala is mostly a background character, even moreso than Suu.
Suu was pretty much a house pet when she was introduced. I wonder if that dynamic held true.
She and Papi are more like Kimihito's little sisters than actual members of the harem. I personally like the manga thus far because none of the characters fall into cliches or stereotypes (not too much anyway. Not like _Infinite Stratos_ or, ugh, _Kämpfer_). And the male protagonist actually completely understands that all these girls want him in the worst way. Again, not like _Infinite Stratos_ or _Kämpfer_.

Lala isn't really part of the harem either since she has no competition for hubby after he dies.

To my understanding he's not even allowed to have a relationship with any of them due to plot reasons. UST gets old eventually.

He's allowed to have a relationship as long as it doesn't end up sexual. The marriage provision probably allows for that to be opened up, and given the series, I have a feeling he's going tenchi and having a very large family

Really? I thought with the whole marriage thing being introduced, it pretty much allowed him to have a relationship with them, even if things get sexual. Heck in one of the recent chapters I think there's a farmer dating a minotauress (Forgive me if I mispelled that right) and a chapter before that has a mixed hotspring becoming a dating spot.

Half-true. Himself (and by extension, his housemates) are the only ones specially exempted from the rule that states man cannot harm monsters and otherwise, courtesy to Ms. Smith making him the test object of interspecies marriage. But those on the later chapters, namely the farmer, the yuki-onna and the innkeep (also the latter guests of the 'mixed' bathing) probably still abide to the rules. Exception MAY apply to the latter guests, because we are not given the date when it happens (after the interspecies relationship law get passed or not.) Either that, or their relation are purely platonic.
