Ah, I get it. The foreign ships don't understand EARTHQUAKES, so it would freak them out or perturb them. The Italians are taking it pretty well. ...Although Kongou should be an exception here. Too bad, we got no MURICA Ships officially yet. In MURICA, we experience EVERYTHING. Hurricanes, Tsunami, Tornadoes, Wild Fires / Firestorms, Hail, Blizzards, etc., and even Man-made Disasters! Like Terrorism and Police Shootouts with military-grade firearms!

Have you Muricans experienced heavy thunder storm with the sun still shining brightly?

BTW Doesn't Italy have earthquakes? Or is it volcano?

Yes; that's actually not that uncommon, especially when you get into the southern great plains (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, etc).

I don't know, perhaps the author wanted to say that Italians are accostumed too to earthquakes... because in truth we have a history of pretty bad earthquakes.

Ah, the joys of living in a country where even the weather is free to decide how to fuck us over. Live in the upper northern areas and you'll experience a blizzard in the middle of spring when you least expect it after weeks and weeks of beautiful warm weather.

Over the past few years the weather have gotten stranger and stranger, happening in areas where it never occur before. Maybe we need to drop more giant ice cubes into the oceans to fix the problems.

USS California would be like the Japanese and Italian ships. "It is over 6.0 on the scale? No? Why you bothering me about it?"

    USS South Dakota? Freaking out.

    Maybe not.

In all seriousness, the US actually gets hit by meteors once in a blue moon (on average once every 75 years, I think it was). The last one was in the late 80s... it was shot down and many thought it was some kind of Russian ICBM until NASA started yelling at them. Good times.

    AKA the Boobquake.

That aside, I'm expecting Akagi to have PTSD flashbacks each time an earthquake happens.

Italians and Japanese should be inverted, really. Japan takes its earthquakes very seriously and as a result it doesn't suffer much from them. Italy gets a lot of them, too, but... eh, half of the cities are historical sites that can't be effectively warded off, and the other half should be secured but the funds get eaten somewhere along the road. We end up being "...eeeh. Give me that plaster and bricks, we got another medieval burg to rebuild".

Yeah, unfortunately that's right... but perhaps they shouldn't be inverted.

Its not really surprising that sooner or later we'll be called "The Storm Capital of the Far East" since the Pacific likes to send craploads of storms our way. Speaking of storms and shipgirls, Halsey slammed right into one so some US shipgirls might be traumatized after that.

As for Japan, they can grit their teeth at a storm but when it comes to a quake, its another thing entirely as if they treat it like a nuclear reactor going critical and is about to have a core meltdown. Akagi and Kaga will most likely have kicked off PTSD and some of the older ships like Fuso, Ise and Houshou will reminisce of the survivor evac that happened.

Russians cannot be perturbed by anything. Meteor? Keep driving! Forest fire? Keep driving! A bear in a car pulling up beside you? Keep driving! Traffic jams? Read that library of books you stuffed into your car!

I knew Russians are scary people when I watched a French documentary about this submarine scrapyard where a Russian was casually carrying radioactive materials like a lunchbox while talking with the french reporter. Russkie had no hazmat suit on.

As a society, Russians have already experienced all of mans and much of natures inhumanity. An experience must have instilled a fatalistic streak the size of their own country in them.
