I wish they'd add that particular spear into the actual game art. Murakumo Kai Ni's official CG in a magazine had that spear on her, so it's strange that it isn't part of the game itself.

Agreed. Feels weird they'd exclude it for a magazine. Maybe one day they'll fix the in-game CG as well. Part of Ayaki's character designs' charm was the weapons/items he gave each of his girls. Seeing them carry over into their Kai Ni feels special.
