That's an odd sense of scale. If shipgirls are actually meant to be as large as actual ships, then they need to be around a hundred times larger than normal humans (battleships and carriers closer to two hundred), but here, they're only roughly ten times.
Also, you might say "drydock", but they never lifted whole battleships out of the water on a crane... no crane could carry a 25,000+ ton ship. (And it would likely do structural damage to the ship to try to suspend a battleship by just a few straps, since they're made to be supported across their whole hull.)
So, yeah, this is gibberish from a "they're just ships" standpoint, and it's basically just bondage with a thin veneer of relating to ships.
