Stomach acid has a pH of about 1.5, apparently, so that sure is some fairly strong acidity.

It seems the processing expenses cost Iwate Prefecture about ¥500 million a year, which must be really major. There's definitely no way they could let it flow into the river as-is, could they. (^^;)

Reader-added tags include "You're wrong!" (a Nausicaa quote, no doubt, though the line by itself isn't too uncommon), "Enough ability to read someone's thoughts", and "No 'all of the above' in the survey".

Today's survey gives me the Ghiblis:

Which Miyazaki anime do you like?
    • Nausicaa
    • Totoro
    • Laputa
    • Porco Rosso
    • Panda Kopanda

    For myself personally?

I hold both Laputa and Porco Rosso close to my heart,

Both these movies were the trigger that properly interested me to anime as an entertainment medium

    Why not "all them"?

Guys, it says "which one do you like", not "which one is your favorite". Surely at least one of the choices given appeals to you in some measure?

    Thus the reader-added complaint tag.

Of the ones in the poll, I'd argue that Nausicaa is by far the best... but I'll always have a special spot in my heart for Totoro. A friend's parents got him a copy of it when we were both kids, long before either of us had ever heard of "anime" and we probably watched it a dozen times over the years.

Somehow, I know just what you're thinking...
...'s nearby reservoir The reservoir beside the facilities
    Neutralize?
    Nau-...Nau-...
The new neutralizing processing facilities at the former Matsuo Mine...
That sure is a huge reservoir.
Apparently, if they don't neutralize the water here, they can't let it flow into the river.
    Yow...that would be serious trouble...
It seems the water coming out of the mine is strongly acidic, with a pH of 2.
