what, did she use an ability capsule or something?

Knowing how she likes to use the really expensive stuff....I wouldn't be surprised. Then again, she's also used Telepathy as well, so maybe the pokes in this comic can use whichever ability suits the situation?

Maybe it's like the Mystery Dungeon games, where the Pokemon can have both abilities at the same time?

Or maybe her ability has always Trace and she happened to be tracing Syncronize last time.
