Also, this guy is the actual mangaka of Monster Musume, while I'm sure he's a fan of his own work, by definition his work is not fan-art.

Sorry, this argument was largely based on misunderstandings. But now it's whether or not an early, non-canonical design of a character merits being tagged as the character which it eventually became. I believe it does, but I'm willing to concede if you're a mod and/or a mod agrees with you.
